American Innovation $1 Coin 2023 25 coin Roll (P) Ohio 23GRA
The United States Mint American Innovation $1 Coin Program is a multi-year series honoring innovation and innovators with $1 coins from each State, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Northern Mariana Islands. The American Innovation $1 Coins in the rolls and bags have uncirculated finishes and were minted at the Philadelphia Mint. The Ohio coin is the first of 2023.
This Ohio American Innovation $1 Coin reverse (tails) design is emblematic of the Underground Railroad. It depicts two strong hands grasped together, the upper arm pulling the lower arm upward, representing the support and strength of the Underground Railroad. A chain fastened to a rustic shackle around the lower armâs wrist snaps and fragments, alluding to the hope of freedom. Inscriptions are âUNITED STATES OF AMERICA,â âUNDERGROUND RAILROAD,â and âOHIO.â
The obverse (heads) design features a dramatic representation of the Statue of Liberty in profile with the inscriptions âIN GOD WE TRUSTâ and â$1.â It also includes a privy mark of a stylized gear, representing industry and innovation.
This American Innovation $1 Coin Roll (Ohio) contains 25 coins with uncirculated finishes minted at the Philadelphia Mint.
The year of minting, mint mark, and âE PLURIBUS UNUMâ are incused on the edge of the coins.
